Angling Celebrate UKCC L1 Presentation of Certificate

Celebrations for Angling gaining UKCC Endorsement

By Rachel Hooper

The Angling Development Board was delighted to be presented with their UKCC certificate of endorsement for their level one coaching qualification at their headquarters in Nottingham. Coach Education Advisor Rachel Hooper made the presentation at the recent board meeting and spoke of how the sport has used the UKCC endorsement process as a catalyst to change how coaching is viewed within the sport. Rachel said: “Angling has really embraced the philosophy of UKCC and are now able to provide coaches with a high-quality coach-education programme that meets the needs of the sport. They have invested in developing a high-quality coach educator workforce and show examples of best practice in a number of areas of coach education”.

At a recent Coaching Standards Group meeting, Angling also had their level-two programme re-endorsed for a further two years. At the same time it was recognised the effort that had been made to ensure the success of the coach-education development within angling. The sport has seen a culture change that has embraced the value of good coach education and this is evident in the positive feedback received from learners who have attended the UKCC endorsed courses.
