As the world turned its attention to the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games we celebrated our Everyday Heroes. The coaches behind sport and physical activity at all levels in the UK.
Whilst Paralympic and Olympic stars and the coaches behind them have been in the media spotlight there are many Everyday Heroes across the country who rarely, if ever, receive such attention for their achievements.....until now.
The case studies below highlight the stories of our Everyday Heroes. They talk about why they do what they do, how they got involved and what it means to be involved.
While the performers in Rio were at the top of their game, our Everyday Heroes coaches lead the whole spectrum of participants. It’s not just about acquiring skills, it’s about helping and inspiring all people to achieve their sport and activity goals, whatever their ability, ambition and motivation.
Look through their stories and share your views using #CoachingHeroes via social media.
