England Netball Head Coach Anna Mayes and British Swimming’s Performance Director for Synchronised Swimming, Biz Price, are among 10 coaches selected for the inaugural intake of UK Sport’s World Class Coaching: Elite Programme.

Anna, a former Wales international netball player was appointed Head Coach in 2011 and led the England team to an unprecedented 3-0 series win over Australia earlier this year.

Biz represented Canada at synchronised swimming. She was appointed Performance Director in 2007 after working with Canada, China and Spain.

Speaking to UK Sport Anna said: “I am excited and honoured to be part of the Elite Programme. I see it as an opportunity to work with and learn from world leading experts, both in and outside the world of sport, and to embrace the challenge of building and sustaining success. For England Netball, I hope this will help us take the next step towards becoming World Champions and world leaders of the sport.”

Biz told UK Sport: “This is a great opportunity to share knowledge with other elite coaches in other disciplines in a formal and informal manner. It is incredibly exciting and an important part of my journey and personal development.

“Being able to identify areas of development needed with experts in many fields to broaden my experience base will be invaluable to the athletes and coaches I work with.

“Coaching is also about finding better ways to communicate with the athletes you work with. This is an excellent chance to learn, practice more methods and I feel excited to have elite coaches coaching me.”
