Heart of Portsmouth Boxing Academy Head Coach Q Shillingford was presented with a cheque for £1000 for the club on 17 August 2013 by the Tim Lewis Trust in recognition of his excellent work at the Academy.

Q was named Gillette Community Coach of the Year at the 2012 UK Coaching Awards: Supported by Gillette, for which he received £1000.

He dedicated the Gillette prize money to providing CPD opportunities for other coaches within the club. The Trustees were impressed by this, and Q’s excellent work at the Academy, and decided to make Q the first coach to receive a grant from the Trust.

The £1000 grant from the Tim Lewis Trust will be used  for CPD for coaches at the club as well, icluding funding them to attend the sports coach UK Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop.

The aim of the Trust, set up in the memory of former sports coach UK Board Member Tim Lewis, is to advance education for the public benefit in the science of sport, sports technology and fitness by the support and provision of research and to disseminate the useful results of such research to the public at large.
