Coaching in the UK

Wider benefits of coaching evident in UK Coaching’s Annual Review

Mon, 21 Aug 2017

Our 2016-17 annual review is now available to view.

The document reflects on the impressive work we achieved in 2016-17, and evidences succinctly the wider benefits of coaching to society.

During this period we worked with a range of external partners to deliver a service that echoes our mission of putting coaching at the heart of physical activity and sport.

Highlights include: our collaborative research with England Athletics to help them better understand the customer journey of their Run Leaders; improved customer satisfaction for our partner event programme; our research team piloting one of the largest ever surveys of coaching and coached participation; and the completion of a series of engaging, accessible and bite-sized animations and support guides aimed at youth coaches, developed in partnership with Sport England.

All these examples show how coaching is being used to improve the physical and mental well-being, as well as the individual, economic and social development of both participants and coaches.

Through our work we continue to demonstrate the wider benefits coaching has on society, and incorporate a workforce, not only reflective of society, but equipped to meet the full range of customer motivations.
