Have your say! Take part in UK Coaching’s new research study

UK Coaching is embarking on a new research project to explore the lived experience of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic coaches and coaches from lower socio-economic groups.

We are looking for around 20 coaches to take part in the study.

We’d love to hear about your coaching experiences, and there is a financial incentive for those coaches who wish to become involved.

The first part of the qualitative research study – which is being managed by our external research partners Craft – will involve you using your smartphone or other device to film a video diary telling us about your experiences of coaching, and showing us too. There will be six tasks in total and you will have 10 days to complete them. Each task should take no more than 20 minutes to complete and coaches who take part will be paid £70 for this stage of the study.

We’ll also select some of those taking part to participate in later stages of the study. These could involve a one-to-one video call with one of the research team, some more video tasks and perhaps even a visit from the Craft team to film you coaching. All in all, you could earn up to £250 for your participation.

As well as informing UK Coaching’s day-to-day activities, the footage gathered during the research process will be edited and shown at UK Coaching’s 2021 Research Conference. It may also be shown on our website and social media platforms. All research is conducted in accordance with the Market Research Society’s Code of Conduct and in line with GDPR regulations.

If you are interested in taking part, please fill in the short qualification questionnaire here.

We will need to have heard from you by the 4 November at the latest if you are to participate.

We are looking for a range of coaches from different sports and backgrounds, with different experiences – please don’t be too disappointed if you are not ultimately selected to participate.

We do value your opinions and there will be more opportunities to take part in research for UK Coaching.
