Elevate Programme

ELEVATE is designed specifically for female coaches aspiring to progress within their sport performance pathway, in order to help them extend their role, profile, and impact.

Overview

The ELEVATE programme explores issues relevant to female coaches and focuses on areas of leadership that will enhance both coaching and personal impact. It will connect coaches to a network of supportive and inspirational women. We involve the coaches sport and share responsibility for creating learning opportunities within which everyone can realise their potential.

Join

Coaches will be supported through an individual development plan process and explore ways to maximise their career progression. They will develop awareness and confidence in their coaching and leadership style and explore ways to develop personal impact.

As part of the programme, coaches will have the opportunity to:

Develop a plan to progress their career and strategies to fulfil their potential
Develop greater confidence in their coaching and leadership style
Develop reflective practice
Develop coaching knowledge and skills that have personal relevance and impact
Grow their network of support

Coaches will be nominated by their sport. It is essential that the NGB has considered the career trajectory and succession planning of the coaches they put forward.

Who is it for?

The programme is aimed at female coaches (18+) who are:

Working in UK Sport funded sports
Coaching at a regional or national level with athletes in the Talent and/or Performance stage of the athlete pathway (14-21 years age range)
Committed to their own development and open to the opportunities on the programme
Looking to develop confidence and strategies for overcoming the unique challenges women face
Coaching on a regular basis.

Programme Details

When will the programme take place?

The programme will take place between September 2022 and February 2023.

How is it delivered?

ELEVATE will consist of 4 months of guided learning, and 2 months of self-directed in-situ learning. During the first phase, coaches will be supported through:

Face-to-face workshops
Virtual Workshops

During the second phase, coaches will be supported to:

Undertake an applied learning project
Have a professional discussion with the NGB
Seek out professional development opportunities in their sport

The programme culminates with a connection event where coaches will share and celebrate their learning and development (face-to-face workshop).

Tuesday 13^th September – Loughborough University 10am-3.30pm

Monday 10^th October – virtual 9.30-12.30pm

Thursday 10^th November – Loughborough University 9.45am-3.30pm

Thursday 1^st December – virtual 12.30-3.30pm

Wednesday 15^th February – Loughborough University 10.30-3.30pm

Outcomes

Coaches will:

Develop a plan to progress their career and strategies to fulfil their potential
Develop greater confidence in their coaching and leadership style
Develop reflective practice
Develop coaching knowledge and skills that has personal relevance and impact
Grow their network of support
