HORIZON Programme

Supporting coaches to explore Coach Welfare, Performance Planning, Coach-Athlete Relationships and Ethical Decision Making. The programme will aim to encourage coaches to consider and apply the key themes of the programme in their own coaching environments.

Overview

The HORIZON Coach Development Programme will support coaches in exploring themes relating closely to senior and head coaching. Through a blend of on-demand resources, social learning spaces, and Coach Developer support, coaches taking part will be challenged to critically reflect on their role as a senior or head coach their coaching environment and the athletes they coach.

Who is it for?

The programme is aimed at coaches who are:

Working with leadership responsibility
Involved in the management and/or leadership of other coaches
Working at a national level with junior athletes in the Talent and/or Performance stage of the athlete pathway
Committed to their own development and able to engage with the learning opportunities throughout the entirety of the programme
Open to developmental conversations with other coaches around the themes of the programme and leadership in coaching
Overseeing and contributing to the delivery of programmes over multiple seasons.

When will the programme take place?

Monday 12 June 2023 – Monday 15 March 2024 (1 cohort, 40 weeks)

Coaches have the opportunity to engage in the programme to a depth and breadth that suits them. The programme includes:
