Applied Coaching Research Conference 2018 – Shaping the Future of Coaching

Our Applied Coaching Research Conference took place at the Museum of Science and Industry, Manchester on 27 February 2018.

The action packed day included workshops and presentations from national partners, leading coaching researchers and experts from beyond the world of coaching.

Keynote speakers included:

  • Professor Joan Duda, University of Birmingham
  • Professor Ben Jones, Leeds Beckett University and Research and Innovation Manager at the Rugby Football League (RFL)
  • Clare McGregor, Founder and Managing Director, Coaching Inside and Out (CIAO).

Titled Shaping the Future of Coaching the Conference explored the latest innovations in coaching research and demonstrate how research is being used to shape the future of coaching, under three broad headings:

  1. Apply – the application of research findings into practice
  2. Impact – understanding the impact of coaching on individuals (participants and coaches) and communities
  3. Advance – exploring the future of coaching, including the latest developments and innovations in research
