How to use the UK Coaching Community Platform

These terms tell you how you may use the community to access content in the UK Coaching Community Platform for your own personal use. Please read them carefully.

The UK Coaching Community Platform/LINK is a place where coaches – from any sport or activity - ask questions, share experiences and help each other learn.

Who makes LINK available to me?

The UK Coaching Community Platform/LINK  is made available to you by UK Coaching, 2 City Walk, South Bank, Leeds LS11 9AR.

UK Coaching is a registered charity committed to driving forward the development of sports coaching in the UK. Registered Charity Number 327354.

What are the features of LINK and how do they work?

In the UK Coaching Community Platform/LINK Coaching Circles, you can view: 

  • A member directory 
  • Videos 
  • GIF’s 
  • Emoji’s 
  • Voice notes 
  • Photos 
  • Comments 
  • Resources 
  • Templates 
  • Downloads 

All are posted in the Hubs on the platform, which you can participate in when you join. You can also post comments, photos and videos, voice notes and more. 

We do not pre-moderate content. We rely on members to report any content or posts that break our guidelines by contacting your LINK Leader in the first instance via the private messaging section of the community platform. You can also report any content or posts that break our guidelines by contacting UK Coaching directly via email. We rely on members to do this. 

How should I use the information on LINK?

You can view any of the information on the LINK Coaching Circle you are invited to. 

You may download and print any content from your LINK Coaching Circle for your own personal and non-commercial use, providing that you respect any intellectual property restrictions that may be published. 

If you wish to use content for other reasons, please contact us.

Remember, in the spirit of letting ideas flow, we do not pre-moderate content. We can't guarantee the accuracy of information posted. You agree that you will always consider any advice carefully before following it, especially where it could affect an athlete’s physical or mental well-being. Please remember that coaches are giving individual advice based on their own experience, so it is your responsibility to decide whether to follow it. Unless specifically stated, posts should be taken as individual views, not the official position of a Governing Body of Sport, Sports Council or any other organisation.

We will not be liable for any loss caused as a result of you doing, or not doing, anything as a result of viewing, reading or listening to content posted in the UK Coaching Community Platform/LINK or on sites that the UK Coaching Community/LINK provides hyperlinks to.

How can I make contributions to LINK?

We warmly welcome your comments and content.

However, we do have participation guidelines to ensure all coaches – of different backgrounds and ideas feel comfortable participating around their same interest.

Our Participation Guidelines are incorporated into these terms. You agree to them at the point of registration. So it is important you read them. We reserve the right to ban any users or remove content that are contrary to the good of the UK Coaching Community Platform/LINK.

Who owns or has rights to LINK content?

All copyright, trademarks, design rights and other intellectual property rights on ConnectedCoaches belong to the UK Coaching Platform/LINK and/or third parties (which may include you or other users) who have posted or submitted content.

If you post content, you as the owner of the content still own the copyright in the content posted. However, by submitting content to us, you are granting us full rights to use and/or publish your content.

UK Coaching owns content posted by UK Coaching unless otherwise stated.

What obligations do I have?

Registering

By registering with the UK Coaching Community Platform/LINK, you agree that:

  • You will not do anything, which would assist anyone who is not a registered user, to gain access to any registration area of the UK Coaching Community Platform/LINK
  • You will not create registration accounts for the purpose of abusing the functionality of the group, or other users; nor will you seek to pass yourself off as anyone else
  • You will notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account by someone else.

Virus Checking

You are responsible for maintaining your own hardware and software. This includes taking your own precautions against viruses. We cannot not guarantee that the UK Coaching Community Platform/LINK services or content will be free from viruses.

How does this site safeguard children?

The UK Coaching Community Platform/LINK is not aimed at children. However, content may indeed feature children as the majority of coaches in the UK coach children. We post content that features children in accordance with the NSPCC’s Child Protection in Sport Unit Guidance. Members are required to do the same as detailed in the Safeguarding Children section in the Participation Guidelines.

What happens if I no longer wish to be a member?

You can leave a LINK Coaching Circle at any time by clicking on the Coaching Circle name in the top left of the screen and choosing “⚠️ Leave the space”. For details of how to remove your details from UKCoaching.org please view our privacy policy.

What happens if the Terms of Use change?

Please note that the Terms of Use are subject to change from time to time. They were last reviewed 4 December 2024.

By accessing the UK Coaching Community Platform/LINK, you agree to be bound by whichever version of the Terms of Use is published at such time.

Should we choose to change our Terms, we will post the changes here. Where the changes are significant, we may email registered users with new details.
