Great Coaching Experiences are Positive Coaching Experiences

Liz Burkinshaw makes the case for positivity in coaching, and discusses several ways in which coaches can be more positive

‘Positive’ doesn’t always come to mind when we think of big, complex words.  But it means so many different things to so many different people!

It can mean being positive in how you interact with the people you coach, give feedback or create a positive environment.

For me, positive is always looking for the good, and finding the great things that people do.

The positive parts of great coaching are:

  • your thoughts as a coach
  • the things you do in your session
  • the actions you take with the people you coach
  • how you behave with everyone else around the session.
