Most fitness professionals tend to work within a gym environment and, with most people who want to get fit pointed towards a gym, that would seem the perfect place to call home. Yet there’s also a large number of people who want to take part in exercise away from a gym facility, which opens up a whole area of great opportunities for trainers and instructors.
There’s nothing wrong with training clients in a traditional gym. Lots of fitness professionals are gym-based. But it’s also good to think outside the box and explore other possibilities within your local community.
There’s a whole range of potential clients out there who you may not ever see at the gym.
You could, for instance, train clients at:
- their homes
- parks
- schools and colleges
- community centres
- church halls
- care centres
- local holiday parks
- workplaces
- mother and baby groups
- sports clubs.
