In the sport and physical activity sector, most people are aware of the difference that a fitness professional can make to inactive people. But what difference could an older fitness professional make to the workforce?
Nearly a third of over-55s put off exercise because of a lack of confidence or the belief that they won’t find people like them in fitness centres.
To combat this, David Lloyd Clubs has committed to having at least one trainer aged 55 or over at each of its clubs by the end of 2022.
But what are gyms and leisure centres missing out on by failing to tap into this sector of the population?
