An Introduction to Using Periodisation in Your Skills Training

Periodisation of Skills Training (PoST) provides a framework to help you design your practice sessions over short and longer periods of time

PoST is one of the ways to periodise skill acquisition similarly to how fitness and physical training is periodised. It focuses on the level of skill of the learner, the complexity of the task, the level of representativeness of the practice activity (how closely a practice activity or training task represents the actual performance environment), and the number of practice repetitions.
