Challenging Situations: the Unintended Consequences

Developed in partnership with Katelynn Slade, Professor Sophia Jowett and Dr. Daniel Rhind from Loughborough University, this guide (the third in a mini-series) presents a challenging situation from the perspective of a coach and a participant

When involved in a challenging situation, it’s important to consider the point of view of others. You need to understand that, for example, while you could be in the White Zone, that doesn’t necessarily mean the other person is.

Clear communication and not making assumptions about how another person feels are crucial in managing challenging situations effectively to the point where all parties involved can move towards the White Zone.
