Developing Effective Training Programmes for Midlife Female Participants

In this guide in a series on coaching midlife women, CEO at The Well HQ and exercise professional Baz Moffat highlights a number of considerations when developing and delivering training programmes

Our belief is that everyone needs to be active, move regularly and find something that they enjoy (love may be pushing it for some). During midlife for female participants, this is key because not only can exercise help to manage many of the symptoms associated with the perimenopause, it also has longer-term effects and benefits on our cardiac system, bones, muscle, and psychological health that no drugs can offer.

Although it’s very unlikely that every session will be able to include everything a midlife woman requires, her overall programme should include the following, based on the current research-informed evidence.
