Speed and Agility: A Framework for Coaches

Both speed and agility are essential in most sports and there are many ways to train these fitness qualities. Advice developed in partnership with Head Coach at Excelsior Athletic Development Club James Marshall

Because speed and agility is such a vast area, rather than try and do everything at once, we can break it down into different components.  We then find ways to train each of those components. 

Your athletes need to be fast and agile in every match, so some form of these components need to be trained every week. By using these fundamental movements in the warm-ups, your athletes will be better prepared to use game-specific speed and agility in your technical and tactical training.
