When you consider the subtleties of verbal and non-verbal communication such as body language and gestures, it’s easy to understand why communication can be misunderstood and perceived differently.
Subtle behaviours and gestures, and how you respond to various situations, will be observed and interpreted by both the people you coach (and their parents or carers) and the people who coach alongside you.
Consequently, it’s important that you are mindful of your words and actions, particularly of the type, volume, and frequency of your communication. An unintentional sigh or shake of the head can be easily misinterpreted, potentially leading to misunderstandings.
