How to Start Asking Good Questions

Evidence-based guidance for coaches on how to plan, implement and review their questioning skills

Research has shown that questions that encourage discussion and debate improve engagement and help people learn. Including them in sessions can mean a big change for coaches.

The traditional role of the coach is to direct and control sessions. In contrast, coaches that ask good questions and encourage players to think and reflect on their experiences, need to take on more of a guiding role.
