Recommendations for Coaching in Primary Schools

There are over 20,000 primary schools in the UK with over 5.5 million pupils: how can you best engage that audience as a coach?

Following the announcement that PE and Sport Premium funding will remain doubled at £320m, many schools are still looking to employ coaches to support their delivery of PE, sport and physical activity. 

But while there is plenty of guidance online aimed at schools on how to recruit and deploy coaches, there is less advice out there for aspiring school coaches. 

The tips below identify some of what you may face while coaching in primary schools and offer some advice as to how to approach the role.
