Family Participation in Physical Activity Through Sports-Based Intervention

A series of videos featuring presenters at the 2020 UK Coaching Applied Research Conference. Leanne Burton, from Liverpool John Moores University, uses her experience on evaluative methods to share her findings from the LFC Foundation’s ‘Open Goals’ programme

“Open Goals is a community session involving families with children aged 5-16 years who want to participate in sport but haven’t previously been very active. It’s about getting communities together, participating in social action, and using the park facilities.

Leanne’s evaluation is a fascinating insight into what makes great coaching: the people skills required and the ability to get to know and want to understand each individual there.
