Developing Your Role as a Coach

Coaches learn self-discovery, understanding their role, coaching impact, and supporting others in their network.

Module 1 of the Coach Learning Programme where your learners will discover how to approach self-discovery with a greater awareness of themselves and the coach's role, as well as the impact of their coaching philosophy, and how to help and be supported by others in their growing coaching network

In This Module Your Learners Will:

  • explore their personal motivations for coaching and their coaching philosophy
  • start to look at their role and responsibilities as a coach 
  • look at how they can support and be supported by others in their developing coaching network.

What's Included?

An interactive test that prepares and primes your learners for the work involved in completing the module. This gives them the chance to test their existing knowledge and obtain an insight of their strengths and areas where they may improve their knowledge and skills.

Expanding on what they have learnt in the eLearning course, our expert tutors will pose this question to your learners, "What is MY role and what do I stand for as a coach?". This will help them to explore the following areas:

Applying knowledge of the role of a coach to develop a personal understanding of the coaching qualities that are important.

  • Understanding the importance of a coaching philosophy. 
  • Using knowledge of the factors that influence a coaching philosophy to develop a personal coaching philosophy.
  • Understanding how developing a support network can support personal development as a coach.

This makes it convenient for them to refer to it throughout the programme and beyond, encouraging life-long learning.

  • Philosophy – Includes tips that can be used during the process of developing a coaching philosophy.

  • Personal Development – Contains information such as how coaches can use digital technologies to support their learning and development.
  • Functions of a Coach – How the essential transferable skills and abilities can be applied to any sphere of coaching.
  • Role of the Coach – Including the importance of taking a holistic approach to support the development of the whole person.


What Do Your Learners Get on Completion?

On successfully completing the module, your learners will be issued a UK Coaching Certificate for both the eLearning and face-to-face workshop or online classroom. If you choose to offer this module as part of a qualification, these certificates will be your learners' evidence of prior learning.
