Guide others to excel and enjoy swimming

How to Become a Swimming Coach

If you’re interested in becoming a swimming coach in Northern Ireland, these Frequently Asked Questions should provide the information, contacts and guidance you need to embark on an incredibly rewarding experience – for both you and the people you go on to coach.

We hope the knowledge and additional resources will be the nudge you need to transition from being a participant or avid swimming fan, to a qualified coach who supports others to develop their passion and enjoyment of the sport.

Or maybe you are a mum or dad who is considering making the switch and progressing from parent-spectator to parent-coach.

The benefits of coaching go far beyond helping people become better performers. Coaching positively and profoundly impacts on all aspects of people’s lives.

Swim Ireland coaches will build on the knowledge and skills provided by swimming teachers within ‘learn to swim’ programmes.
