Safeguarding Adults

This workshop will raise your awareness of how to safeguard adults, ensuring that you have the confidence required to recognise and respond effectively to safeguarding concerns

Developed in partnership with:

Everyone deserves to enjoy participating in sport and physical activity in a safe, supportive environment. Attend this workshop to gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to better support and safeguard adults, which is key to great coaching.

Focusing on the key principles of safeguarding adults, this workshop offers an opportunity to share best practice from your own context, whether that be a studio or a field and everything in between, and to learn from others.

Through interactive scenarios and discussions with people working in different activities and sports, you will have the opportunity to explore the consequences of decisions in a safe and supportive environment, helping to increase your confidence to deal with safeguarding issues effectively.

You will also learn how to respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, including how to report concerns when necessary.

  1. What great coaching practice looks like and how can you apply this to coaching, incorporating the key principles of safeguarding adults.
  2. How you can recognise and respond to concerns about adults, including possible signs of abuse, lower-level concerns and poor practice.
  3. How to report any concerns about adults, where appropriate.

You will receive three months' access to a digital resource to guide you in your future coaching.

Packed full of practical guidance, it will help you to deal sensitively and effectively with any issues that arise.
