What's Included?
£10 million public and products liability insurance – this cover includes liability arising from any advice you may provide and liability for products that you use or sell (e.g. someone alleges your coaching method has caused them an injury and sues you for compensation).
£1 million malpractice professional indemnity insurance – this cover includes liability for financial loss arising from your advice or instruction, including breach of copyright or intellectual property rights (e.g. someone alleges you’ve copied their copyrighted online training programme and sues you for compensation).
Personal accident cover – this includes 50k death and loss of eye(s) or limbs benefit, £50k loss of speech and hearing, £50k permanent disablement and £100 per week for temporary disablement (payable for up to 13 weeks starting from the 29th day of disablement). For members aged over 75 years, Permanent Total Disablement cover is excluded and all other benefits (other than Temporary Total Disablement) are reduced to 10% of the benefit amount shown above).
Cover for online and virtual training – you can coach and work with clients remotely, including hosting live workouts or uploading pre-recorded instructional videos. See our FAQs below for more information on what’s covered.
24 hour legal and tax advice – you can call this helpline any time, day or night, for advice on legal or tax matters in the United Kingdom. Given in confidence, the advice is free and you pay for just the cost of the call.
Counselling services helpline – confidential service available to help you deal with personal issues such as bereavement, divorce, the threat of violence in the workplace and bullying at work.
Risk solutions helpline – provides advice on safety, fire, security and other issues that can affect your business. This service is available during normal office hours (Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm).
Risk management reporting system – you’ll gain access to the Proactive reporting system. A simple, easy to use digital solution for completing reports and checklists that will help improve the safety of your coaching and delivery (includes incident, hazard, pre-session, Par-Q and COVID-19 checker forms).
The policy covers a registered fitness professional to instruct in any area (in the context of exercise and fitness) in which they hold an approved qualification.
This policy will not cover the following unless it is an endorsed programme in the context of exercise and fitness: Sports Coaching, Physiotherapy, Tai Chi, Martial Arts and Boxing. Please read the Statement of Facts for more information.
