We welcome the publication of The Whyte Review today.

We recognise and praise the bravery of those gymnasts who have spoken out against unacceptable behaviour, and we will provide further comment once we have fully digested the report.

Sport and physical activity, given the right environment, is a wonderful medium for people to grow and enhance their physical and mental well-being. We have the highest regard for the welfare of both participant and coach.

Millions of people across the UK regularly receive coaching, and whilst for the vast majority it is an incredibly positive experience, we need to ensure that this is the case for everyone. Anything less is unacceptable.

We understand the report is a difficult read, and may prove triggering for some. Please find a full list of support services via Sport England , if you feel affected in anyway by the content of the report.

The Whyte Review is the independent report undertaken to investigate allegations of mistreatment and a lack of appropriate complaint handling, jointly commissioned by UK Sport and Sport England in 2020 and chaired by Anne Whyte QC.
