Safety is a fundamental principle that should be applied to everything you plan and deliver. Safe coaching is great coaching.

The Safe to Practice eLearning series can give you the knowledge you need to create a safe and nurturing environment for your participants, essential to supporting them to achieve their potential.

You will be guided through the exploration of 15 key principles of safe practice, encouraging you to reflect on and review your coaching practice and delivery, ready to make any tweaks necessary to elevate your sessions.

This comprehensive series is comprised of three courses:

  • Creating a Safe Environment.
  • Creating Safe Sessions.
  • Safe Deployment of Coaches, Volunteers, and Helpers.

The final course in the series extends beyond individual coaching sessions to explore five safe to practice principles that support the deployment of coaches, volunteers and helpers, and explains how the entire coaching family plays an indispensable role in ensuring safety for all.

You will explore:

  • strategies for minimising risk through following a safe recruitment process
  • how to maintain professional boundaries
  • the important role of formal regulated coaching qualifications
  • how to use unqualified volunteers and helpers safely
  • the role of team coordination in ensuring a comprehensive approach to safety that extends to the entire coaching community.

By the end of this series, you will be equipped with a robust understanding of the 15 principles of safe practice and how to integrate them into your coaching practice, giving you the confidence and skills to create safe and nurturing environments for all your participants.

Full course details

This series is suitable for all coaches who want to increase their knowledge of safe practice to benefit their coaching.

Each course is self-paced and lasts approximately 20 minutes. You will be able to access them whenever you want, fitting them in around your lifestyle and commitments; there’s no requirement to complete them in one sitting.

You have access to the course for 12 months from the point of enrolment. There is no due date, but it will need to be completed during that timeframe.
