This brand-new workshop/online classroom is for young coaches embarking on their coaching journey.

Take a person-centered approach and put children at the heart of your sessions.

Overview

This course is designed by experts in child welfare, with your safety as a young coach in mind. It includes everything you need to know about safeguarding and child protection, making it an essential part of your coaching journey. As a young leader or assistant coach, you'll learn how to spot and report any concerns, and who to talk to if you need help. Safeguarding your own welfare is just as important, so we'll also guide you on where to find support. By taking this course, you'll gain the confidence and knowledge to protect both yourself and the children you coach. Start your journey with us and become a great coach who knows how to keep everyone safe.

Safeguarding and Protecting Children for Young Coaches is created for a specific audience and should be recognised by all partners who currently recognise the UK Coaching Safeguarding and Protecting Children (online classroom) and face to face workshop as an essential element of a coach’s minimum standards of deployment.

On this course you will explore:

1. What does good coaching practice look like and how can you apply this to your coaching?

Discover the key elements of effective coaching and learn how to implement these practices to become a more confident and successful coach.

2. How can you recognise and respond to concerns or worries?

Gain the skills to identify potential issues and understand the best ways to address them, ensuring a safe environment for everyone involved.

3. How to report any concerns about children, where appropriate.

Learn the proper channels and procedures for reporting concerns, so you can act swiftly and responsibly when needed.

Accompanying Resource:

You will receive access to a digital resource to guide you in your future coaching.

Packed full of practical guidance it will help you to deal sensitively and effectively with any issues that arise.

Please note: our safeguarding workshops and online classrooms require interaction. In order to receive your certificate, you must interact during the course. With this in mind, please turn on your camera when you enter the online classroom, if that is possible for you.
