UK Coaching Solutions Board Welcomes New Chair
Michael Kay has stepped into the role of Chair of the UK Coaching Solutions Board of Directors – effective from 1st December 2025.
Michael Kay will succeed Nathan Kosky as Chair of the UK Coaching Solutions Board, following Nathan’s decision to step down.
Nathan is leaving the role to focus fully on his new job as Chief Commercial Officer at the iconic The Goodwood Group – and to allow time to care for his elderly mother.
Previously a trustee on the UK Coaching Board, Nathan stepped down in 2024 to take up the position of Chair of UK Coaching Solutions.
Reflecting on his time as Chair, Nathan expressed his gratitude to his colleagues and the organisation:
“I’d like to thank all the UK Coaching team for allowing me the honour of supporting their important work and gain valuable non-executive experience. I wish Mark [Gannon, UK Coaching CEO], Michelle [Bramley, UK Coaching Chair], Michael and all the team huge success.”
The leadership transition marks a new chapter for UK Coaching and Michael brings extensive financial and commercial expertise to support the UK-registered charity – which is the lead agency for coaching in the UK.
A chartered accountant, Michael led the commercial function within NHS digital before acting as an advisor to the Council of Heath insurance in Saudi Arabia.
Since 2019 he has been a member of the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and is a Chair of their Members board.
Michael is a strong advocate of the critical role in helping individuals realise their true potential. He has a keen interest in a wide variety of sports and is an Honorary Steward at the Wimbledon Championships.
Looking ahead to his tenure as Chair, Michael said: “Over the last 12 months, I have been hugely impressed by the talent within UK Coaching Solutions Limited and the energy and enthusiasm to deliver their strategy.
Recognising the importance of both physical and mental wellbeing, I look forward to taking over the role of Chair and, together with the executive team and my fellow directors, helping to strengthen UK Coaching's position as the leading charitable organisation in the UK for sport and physical activity coaches.”
UK Coaching Chair Michelle Bramley paid tribute to both Michael and outgoing Chair Nathan:
"On behalf of all UK Coaching Solutions Board members, I am delighted to officially welcome Michael Kay as the incoming Chair. Michael has already given significant time and added great value to our work, and we look forward to continuing this relationship with Michael in his new role. His experience and insight will be invaluable moving forward.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Nathan Kosky for his outstanding service as Chair. Nathan has brought great commercial perspective to the organisation which, together with his supportive challenge has ensured that the organisation stays focused on its goals.
“We truly appreciate the service that Nathan has given and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours."
