What is the Certificate in Coach Education Learning Programme?

The Certificate in Coach Education Learning Programme is a flexible CPD programme for people involved in coach education, learning and assessment.

It has been designed to support and upskill coach educators outside of a formal qualification, while also providing a development route for those working towards the Level 4 Certificate in Coach Education and Development.

The programme can be delivered as a complete learning journey or as individual workshops, depending on the needs of your organisation and workforce.

It is fully mapped to the Coach Developer Professional Standard and focuses on the skills and behaviours needed to deliver inclusive, effective and learner-centred coach education.

The Evolution of Coach Education

Coaching is changing. Coaches are working with more diverse participants, in more varied environments, and for a wider range of reasons. From participation and wellbeing to talent and performance.

As coaching evolves, the way coaches learn and develop must evolve too.

Many organisations are reviewing how they support their coach education workforce, recognising the need for tutors, assessors and coach developers who can deliver learning that is more inclusive and connected to real coaching practice.

The Certificate in Coach Education Learning Programme has been developed to support that shift. It gives your workforce the tools and confidence to create better learning experiences for coaches and better outcomes for the people they coach.

How Will My Organisation Benefit?

Support your tutors, assessors and coach developers to feel better prepared, better connected and better equipped to deliver high-quality learning experiences.

Help your workforce design and deliver learning that is relevant, engaging and grounded in real coaching practice.

Develop coach educators who understand how to support different learners, build caring relationships and create environments where people feel able to contribute and grow.

Give your workforce a shared understanding of effective coach education practice, helping to improve consistency across programmes, pathways and delivery teams.

Use the programme as CPD, onboarding, refresher training or as part of a wider development pathway towards the Level 4 Certificate in Coach Education and Development.

Who is the CCE Programme For?

Understanding coach learning, development and assessment

Learners explore how coaches learn and develop, and how learning and assessment can be designed to support meaningful progress.

Building caring relationships

This theme focuses on the relationships that sit at the heart of effective coach education, including trust, professional boundaries, wellbeing and support.

Ethical and effective practice

Learners consider the professional responsibilities of coach educators and how to make informed, ethical decisions in practice.

Planning and initiating coach learning, development and assessment

This theme supports learners to design and adapt learning experiences that reflect real coaching environments and the needs of different learners.

Supporting and sustaining coach learning, development and assessment

Learners explore how to support ongoing development, motivation and behaviour change, helping coaches continue learning beyond a single course or workshop.
