Organising and Planning

Plan effectively, save time and ensure a great coaching experience

To plan effectively:

  • Be organised! Always have a plan in place that you’re able to deliver on. This is part and parcel of creating a great experience that encourages people to keep coming back.
  • Give yourself time to reflect, and to let the outcomes of that inform your coaching practice. Reflection is a ‘magic ingredient’ that can have a big impact on coaching craft.
  • Understand the coaching models and theories that can guide your approach and inform session design. They can be particularly useful in ensuring that your sessions are inclusive.
  • Learn to apply evidence-based insight to your coaching practice. You can learn a lot from the findings of experts and researchers and use their results to adapt your sessions.
  • Get to grips with the art of goal-setting. The goals that you help the people you coach set can inform session design and ensure that you are engaging with their key motivations and reasons for attending.
